My name is Xinyu Cai (Nestor). I'm an international student from Fujian, China. I am a sophomore at Purdue majoring in Mechanical Engineering Technology. I choose to pursue this major for my passion into cars and machines. Being in an engineering environment helped me develop a lot of helpful skills like replacing car components and put up computers.
In SCLA 110 and SCLA 111 I have learned several concepts that I found important to keep in mind in the future learning and communicating. Before taking the two courses, I felt that I have sufficient language skills but not enough cultural and communication knowledge. After learning the following themes including Digital Storytelling, Personality, Talent and Strength, and Collaboration, I reflected on how they helped me with the cultural and communication challenge. In this digital portfolio I will share my thoughts and reflections on these concept themes along with some journals, project 3 of SCLA 110, project 1 reflection and project 1 of SCLA 111 that can relate to these three themes.
